Raison Foster Associates provide a high quality service founded on combined experience of over 50 years in geotechnical and foundation engineering. The Company can provide a full design service in addition to practical advice and an independent checking service.

The Company can provide assistance at pre-tender stage and subsequent construction design stage to Clients. Foundations solutions involving more than one geotechnical system or alternative solutions can be provided. Construction specifications and CAD drawings can be provided as part of the package.

The Company uses fully licensed state-of-the-art software to support a fully professional service to all its clients.

Services provided for Piling include:-

  • A full design service covering the complete range of piling systems (e.g minipiles, CFA auger displacement, auger bored, large diameter, underreams, driven, cast in situ, pre-cast and steel section piles.)
  • Design can cover capacity under axial compression and tension, horizontal load behaviour and settlement predictions using state of the art software.
  • Full structural design and analysis of the pile section for reinforcement design under compression, tension and horizontal loads and bending moments. Design to BS 8110, BS 5400 or BD 74/00.
  • Dynamic pile analysis.
  • Trouble shooting of on-site piling problems.
  • Advice on alternative piling solutions at tender and detailed design stage.
  • Full back analysis service for pile load testing

Software Resources

  • Software resources include in-house program KPILE and Oasys software ALP and PILSET. Other software available includes pile group analysis program PIGLET and REPUTE.
  • Full back analysis service for pile load testing using CEMSET or Chin methods.
  • Structural design using Oasys ADCOL and ADSEC and in-house program SHEAR.
